New Season

Holy crap its been a while since I put up a post. A lot has changed also. The bike is now white and has an air shifter and is a low 12 second bike. I'll get up some pics soon. The team is going to Weds night test and tune tomorrow so i'll get some pics from that.

Naked Speed is working on expanding with building two more bikes, as to do grudge racing, so that's cool.

Anywho, I'll get up some pics and more to come.

Renthal UL's on the 9'er

After shoveling three and a half feet of snow off the Honda, I decided to put on them new Renthals. This is a pretty common mod that peeps do to the 9'er as the stock chrome bars are kinda bleh. These bars are lower and put the rider in a slightly more forward angled body position. A lot of people talk about having to drill holes when putting aftermarket bars on, but drilling into aluminum is probably not a good idea, and it takes way to long. The holes are for the small nubs on the inside of the blinker mount and on the throttle. Just grind the nubs off, and put on some JB Weld if your really worried about stuff moving, or electric tape.

One thing about putting on lower bars such as these, the stock mirrors no longer work. Since the bars are lower, the clutch and front brake lever are angled down further, making the mirrors point at the airplanes flying above. I never used to even use mirrors on my old zooky, but after using these stock mirrors while riding in traffic, I like mirrors. I'm just going to put on a small bar end mountain bike mirror and I got a 10 dollar set of bar end sliders for dirtbike bars. The bars costed 58 bucks, the mirror I'm getting for free, and the bar ends were 10. So this entire thing, assuming JB Weld is at your house, should run about 80 dollars. It ads to a super cool look and it feels much much better than the stocker bars.

For those of you who think that a blog about traveling India is cooler than my blog, you can go %^&* yourselves. Sorry I'm not traveling around India and have a really cool blog. Sorry my blog is about a dead beat race team and the stupid stuff we do. You all know who you are!!

Some Dragracing Stuff

Figured I'd at least keep the blog rolling a bit to help shake off the winter blues. It's not the most professional video, but it's at Cecil County Dragway at least!!!! I wonder if this is a Wednesday event? It must be recent since the trees are cleared around the white house. Actually I think its been that way for a while.

The track is still supposed to open February 26. I hope they get all the snow cleared, the naked speed team will be there if it is open.

Some Winter Stuff

So it snowed a lot, which sucks. However, the best bike show on the east coast is going to be at the timonium fairgrounds this weekend. The naked speed team will be there hahah whoo!

There are $5 coupons that take the adult $15 dollar ticket price down to $10. You can get these coupons on the website. Just type in timonium bike show 2010 and it'll come up.

Every bike manufacturer will be there, there too many to list.

Roland Sands CBR1000 Streetfighter!!!

Roland Sands, renowned bike builder and ex- gp racer designed the king of streetfighters, this custom cbr1000r.

Trading the fairings for a honda 599 headlight and visor, Sands exposed the powerhouse and frame of this beast. He added crash pucks and set of Renthal Far Bars instead of the clip-ons.

To help this dragon breathe fire is the Vance and Hines CS four-to-one exhaust.

Those wheels are the work of Performance Machine Wheels.

Holy hell this thing is sweet.

Whats goin on with the team

First order of business, the bike is ready for race season. Cecil opens up at the end of February and the Naked Speed Team will be on it! We have plans to get ninja 250 front end, which is still in progress, actually the progress hasn't started. Justin also wants to paint the bike yellow, for some reason or another. We hope to see more naked speed fans this year, so come get involved its fun. All you do is drink beer and hang out and watch racing, or you can race if you want to.

Second order of business, I was at teh local gap and the park ranger flashed his lights at me as I was going around the 3rd turn on the downhill, needless to say I kept going!

Thats all for now, this weather sucks lets hope it warms up and doesn't snow on Saturday so I can take my test.

It's been a while but i'm still alive

Holy hell, it's been a while since my last post. ALOT has happened since that lame post also. First order of business I've discovered a really warm riding trick for these winter months. Winter coat liners under your leather jacket... mine is windproof and nice n thick, so it blocks the wind and keeps ya' warm and toasty. Just a lil tidbit I discovered.

Second order of business, I road up to Connowingo ( however you spell it) the day after it snowed, and it was cold may I ad. I go to take some pics, and my battery in the camera died, so that was an epic JOe move. So there are no pics of my Zook all sadlebagged up in the snow.

Thirdly, I got a new bike!!!!!!! Brand spankin new 2007 Honda 919. I shall post pics.

Things have been busy here in the homestead so stay tuned for something, we are organizing a ride to tennessee in the Spring, and since the only people who read this already know of the ride, there is no reason for me to post this.

Heres the pics:
